However, just because I own a small store's worth, doesn't mean I don't value it all. Every new piece of lingerie is a deliberate decision by me to honour myself, to value myself, to draw a line in the eyeshadow and say that I choose to indulge, treat and pamper myself. I choose to honour, cherish and love myself.
I came across Diva Choice some time ago on Twitter and they seemed to be a little different, in that they proudly, unashamedly made a statement.
Their ethos was all about saying to women-look, every now and then, you need to make the choice to value yourself. To do something that feels good for you Heaven knows, as workers, as mothers, as daughters, as wives, there's not always a lot of time and energy to put yourself first. But, sometimes, if you are going to do a halfway decent job in those other roles, you have to put yourself first.
If I want to skip freely down Oxford Street, clad only in my red heels and rumba-frilled knickers, if I want to conduct my working day from inside a bath of froth and petals,as a seductive yet sudsy employee,if I want to cook dinner with a glass of something indulgent whilst stirring the bolognaise with my nipple tassels in one deft double gyration-I should be allowed to do so. Well-almost.
Diva Choice are not a lingerie company who just happen to sell a few bath products or vice versa. They have taken a deliberate decision to value the precious time we all need occasionally, by making both the heart and soul of their business.
In my indulgent package was a bath bomb, a beautiful handmade rose-petal soap and a gorgeous pair of black tie-sided knickers, frilled on the back and thrilled all over.
A perfect combination and now, in my mind, difficult to think of one without the other as they both meld into the perfect, dreamy specialness I needed.
So, its bras and bars all the way for me now, or what I prefer to call Bath and Boudoir. So, head over to Diva Choice (www.divachoice.co.uk) and choose to peruse, decide to glide and altogether opt for a little Diva time.
